Glenwood Early Childhood Center

     Glenwood Early Childhood Center houses educational programs which are all geared entirely to Early Childhood.  The Pre-Kindergarten program is an optional all-day program for children 4 years of age as of September 1.  The Kindergarten program is for children 5 years of age as of September 1.  We also house a Preschool Program for developmentally delayed children age 3-5 years.

     Glenwood students participate in a regimented academic program which includes reading, math, language arts, science and social studies.  Also included are activity classes such as physical education, music and library science.  Center time is also a favorite as it includes semi-independent and independent learning in the skill areas listed above and also in visual arts and fine-motor development.  There are small group intervention classes in the areas of reading and math for those students who need support services.

     Glenwood ECC is a designated A+ School.  The A+ Schools Program is a whole school reform model that views the arts as fundamental in how teachers teach and students learn in all subjects.  The A+ Schools Program creates statewide networks of schools that choose to adopt and implement the A+ philosophy and practice and make a commitment to participate in network activities.  The A+ Program is a nationally recognized as an effective researched-based strategy for sustainable school reform.

     Glenwood ECC is a school that thoroughly believes in its creed which states the following:  “I am unique and special.  I am glad I am me.  I am responsible for my choices, good or bad.  I am kind.  I can learn.  I am loved.  I WILL SUCCEED!”
