Washington School, A Great Place to Learn and Grow Washington School is a great place. Our students, faculty, curriculum, extra curricular activities and involved parents make Washington great. The students at Washington School are amazing. They strive everyday to do their best and to learn. This year there will be approximately 400 students walking the halls of Washington. They will make new friends, learn new and exciting things and be challenged to grow educationally, physically, and emotionally. Washington has a wonderful staff. The teachers are highly qualified and dedicated to excellence. They work tirelessly to prepare lessons that are exciting and fun for the students in their classroom. They stay up to date with the latest educational research through pursuing their Master degree and through ongoing professional development. Washington's curriculum is individualized. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students. The primary focus is on reading and math skills. All students receive core instruction however intervention and enrichment programs are available for those students who qualify. Other areas in which the students receive instruction are Science, Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, Library and Information Skills, Fundamentals of Art and Music, as well as Character Education. Washington provides opportunities for students to shine outside of the classroom. Students are involved in music programs, academic teams, and honor choir. These opportunities provide students the chance to excel and develop their unique talents and abilities. Washington has involved parents. Washington School believes that partnering with parents is key to a child's academic success. We encourage and welcome parents to assist with classroom projects and activities. Parents are vital to our students' success by helping as math and reading buddies. Parents are also an important part of our Math and Reading Nights, Popcorn Fridays and other special events. As you can see, Washington is a very exciting and special place for students to learn. So come and experience for yourself how great Washington really is. | |
