Washington is Great! Our students, faculty, curriculum, activities and parents make it great!
The students at Washington are great. They strive everyday to do their best and to learn. This year there will be approximately 400 students walking the halls. They will make new friends, learn new and exciting things and be challenged to grow educationally, physically and emotionally. Washington starts at 8:30 A.M. and ends at 3:30 P.M. Afterschool program ends at 5:30 P.M.
Washington's staff is great! The teachers are highly qualified and dedicated to excellence. They work tirelessly to prepare lessons that meet the needs of the students. They stay up-to-date with the latest educational research as they pursue their Master's of Education Degree and attend ongoing professional development.
Washington's curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the students. The primary focus is on reading and math skills. All students receive core instruction, with intervention and enrichment available. Students also study Science, Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, Library and Information Skills, Art and Music Fundamentals, as well as Character Education.
Washington provides opportunities for students to shine outside of the regular classroom. Students are involved in music programs, academic teams and honor choir.
Washington has involved, "Great", parents. A key belief is that partnering with parents is the "key" to a child's academic success. We encourage and welcome parents to assist with classroom projects and activities. Parents are vital to our students' success by helping as math and reading buddies. Parents also are an important part of our Math and Reading Nights, Popcorn Fridays and other special events.
As you can see, Washington is a very exciting and special place for students to learn. So come and experience for yourself GREAT Washington ! |
