The Search for The "Super" Cougar

Dear Ada City School family, We are excited to welcome home Cougar alum Pat Liticker as the next Ada City Schools Superintendent. Mr. Liticker, who currently serves as the El Reno assistant superintendent, will begin his duties as superintendent this July. We can’t wait to see what great things Mr. Liticker will accomplish alongside our staff, students and community members as superintendent. As we progress, the Board of Education supports Mr. Liticker and ensures a smooth transition that benefits our students, educators, staff and community. Mr. Liticker brings a strong background and a proven track record in district leadership across all levels, curriculum development and strategic planning. His experience has equipped him with the tools to lead a system-wide, vertical alignment approach, improving academic outcomes while focusing on operational excellence. With an intrinsic knowledge of our district and a nearly 30-year-long tenure in education, Mr. Liticker embodies the Cougar mission and will help our district continue to support every student’s path toward success. You are invited to attend a welcome reception for Mr. Liticker from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on May 7 at the Ada Early Childhood Center, located at 630 W. 33rd Street Ada, OK 74820. After graduating from Ada High School in 1990, Mr. Liticker earned his Bachelor of Science in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Weatherford. For the first decade of his career, Mr. Liticker spent time in the classroom and out on the field. He served as junior high social studies teacher, assistant athletic director, and football and wrestling coach at El Reno Public Schools from 1997-2007. In 2007, he accepted his first administrative role as assistant principal of El Reno Secondary Schools. Drawn to serving students on a district-wide level, Mr. Liticker earned his master’s in educational administration from SWOSU. After completing his degree, Mr. Liticker accepted the role of Etta Dale Jr. High principal in El Reno before transitioning into the role of El Reno High School principal. In 2020, Mr. Liticker accepted his first district-level role as El Reno’s Director of Instructional Leadership and Professional Learning where he led the district’s principals and helped cultivate their leadership skills through the implementation of Professional Learning Communities across the district. In 2022, Mr. Liticker accepted his current position of El Reno Public Schools Assistant Superintendent. As an active, collaborative leader, Mr. Liticker has flourished as assistant superintendent, helping El Reno develop its current bond initiative, planning the district’s annual budget and expenditures, and collaborating with other district leadership and staff to support student success and create a positive learning environmentWith help from the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA), the board selected Mr. Liticker from a competitive pool of applicants. OSSBA has helped facilitate superintendent searches across the state, working with other school board associations throughout the country to ensure quality candidates. We are thankful for all the responses to the superintendent search survey from parents, students, staff and the community. Your responses were incredibly valuable as we navigated the search process, narrowing down the candidates to an education professional who values our schools and community and who will help our district continue to grow and provide new, exciting opportunities for our students.
